by Eddie Gunter | Jul 22, 2013

The Sheriff's Office wants to warn Transylvania County residents and visitors alike about the dangers of high waters in our mountain streams and rivers. In recent weeks, several swift water rescues' and one death have resulted from people using the waters. With the above average rainfall this year, streams and rivers are bank full. swift currents are the result! The Sheriff's Office wants to urge people to use caution while enjoying our mountain waters. With a high chace of afternoon thunderstorms this time of year, and an already high water level, our rivers can become deadly in minutes.
Please use caution before entering our mountain waters!
