Benny Frady BIOGRAPHY

Benny Frady is a native of Transylvania County and began his service to the community as a volunteer fireman with the Little River Fire Department from 1979 until 1986.

Benny started his career with the Sheriff’s office in October 1985 as a reserved detention officer. In March 1986 Benny was transferred to the patrol division as a patrol officer when the county assigned three officers to the shifts. In 1989 Benny became a patrol Sgt., where he remained until he was assigned to the Criminal Investigative Division in 1992.

Benny remained there until March 1998 when he returned to reserved status until 2011. In 2011 Benny returned back to the Sheriff’s Office as a transport officer and then later that year he was assigned to the courthouse and then to civil process. Benny was promoted to Criminal Investigation Sgt. in 2013 and then transferred to the courthouse as the supervisor of security in 2016.
