Jeremy Queen BIOGRAPHY

Captain Jeremy Queen is the Division Commander for Detention, Courthouse Operations, Civil Process, School Resource Officers, and the TCSO Volunteer Program.  Captain Queen has been with the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office since 1999, where he has served in the Patrol Division for 7 years as a Deputy Sheriff, in the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) for another 7 years as a Detective and Sergeant, in the Professional Standards and Training Division for 4 years as the Lieutenant, and was promoted to his current rank of Captain in February of 2017.

Captain Queen is a native and lifelong resident of Transylvania County, as well as 1998 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville.  He has received several hundred hours of continuing law enforcement education from the North Carolina Justice Academy, Blue Ridge Community College, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, Clemson University, the University of Tennessee, and Western Carolina University.  Captain Queen has received both an Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate (2005) and an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate (2006) from the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commission.  In 2013, he received a specialized certificate from the NC Department of Justice known as the Criminal Investigations Certificate Program, a 500-hour course of study through the NC Justice Academy.  Captain Queen is also a NC Department of Justice certified law enforcement instructor, specializing in Firearms, Hazardous Materials and Explosives, Expandable Baton, Officer Safety and Survival, Active Shooter Rapid Deployment, and Taser Conductive Electrical Weapons.  He is a Field Training Officer, and formally the Field Training Supervisor / Coordinator.

Jeremy is an active member and on the Board of Trustees of the Anchor Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest, NC, where he also serves as a Sunday School teacher and security team member.  He also has been honored to be involved in several organizations in the community during his career, including the Vision Brevard / Transylvania Steering Committee, the Young Life Board of Directors, School Improvement Teams for Rosman High and Rosman Elementary Schools, Gideons International, Transylvania Center for Dialogue Board of Directors, Transylvania County Fraternal Order of Police, Transylvania County Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers, the Tri-State Law Enforcement Conference, Transylvania County Criminal Justice Partnership Planning Board, Cops for Kids, Volunteer coach and chaperone for Transylvania Schools, Smart Start, the Salvation Army of Transylvania County, the Blue Ridge Community College Public Service Training Committee, and Operation Christmas Child.

His favorite thing to do in his spare time is making memories with his wife and three children, as well as attending and ministering at Anchor Baptist Church & Ministries, mission trips / work, traveling, all sorts of outdoor activities, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers!
